MiniMax H3: Make Your Product Photo Move
A good product photo already solves half the creative brief: what the item looks like, how it is lit, and what the viewer should notice. MiniMax H3 gives that still another job. You can use it as the starting frame of a short video, then direct the motion and sound around it.

The Short Version
Start with one approved image. Keep the product still. Give the camera one slow move and the soundtrack one quiet job. Judge shape, label, and continuity before you make the scene more elaborate.
MiniMax documents H3 output up to 15 seconds with stereo sound. The hosted H3 model offers 2K, while H3-Max is a faster variant capped at 768P.
The useful question is not how much movement you can squeeze into the clip. It is which single movement makes the product easier to understand. Here is a practical starting brief for a product reveal, with a clear way to judge the result.
Choose the frame before the prompt
Use a sharp photograph you own, with the entire product visible and enough empty space for the camera to move. For this example, imagine a white skincare jar on warm stone, with soft light from the left. A simple background makes product changes easier to spot.
Crop the photograph for the intended screen shape first. In H3's image-to-video mode, the input image determines the output aspect ratio. Leave pricing and any long headline for your editor.
Copy this product-reveal prompt
Use the uploaded photograph as the first frame. Create one continuous eight-second product shot. The white skincare jar stays stationary on the warm stone surface. Preserve its dimensions, lid, material, color, and existing label throughout.
The camera slowly pushes forward in a straight line, ending on a slightly closer view of the jar. Maintain the same soft light from the left and a stable background. Let a faint reflection move naturally across the lid as the viewpoint changes.
Use gentle room ambience only, with no speech or music. Keep the final second calm and steady for an added caption. No cuts, extra products, hands, rotating label, or new lettering.
Pick the model deliberately
For the 2K version, choose MiniMax-H3 in a tool that exposes that option. Do not assume the Max suffix means the highest resolution. MiniMax's current documentation describes H3-Max as the fast variant, with 480P and 768P output.
Also distinguish a hosted generation from running the open model yourself. The open H3-Base produces 768p; the documented full 2K workflow includes additional hosted components.
Make the second pass smaller
If the camera moves too far, shorten the move. If the lid bends, reduce the perspective change. If the label shimmers, use a more frontal starting image and keep the camera almost still. These are specific revisions you can assess, rather than another request to make everything cinematic.
Save the original image, prompt, settings, and strongest clip together. Change one instruction on the next attempt so you know which choice improved the result.
Check the frames that matter
Watch the exported file at normal speed and pause on those three moments. A beautiful opening is not enough if the product changes halfway through.
- Opening: does the jar match your source photograph?
- Middle: do the lid, outline, and label remain intact?
- Ending: is there a steady moment for your caption?
- Playback: does the sound suit the scene without distracting from it?
Turn the clip into something useful
Add one readable line in your editor, such as the product name or a genuine offer, then export for the placement you actually need. Keep a still-image version alongside the video so you can compare engagement on the same offer.
The goal for this first brief is a recognizable product and a clean motion choice. Once that works, experiment with a second camera direction or a different surface. Keep the product reference fixed.
